Your browser never forgets.

Cache, cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB — every site you visit leaves residue behind, and Chrome buries the controls to clear it.

One sweep. All of it.

Click once — or press Ctrl+Shift+X. Cache, cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, CacheStorage. Gone, on your terms.

Cache cleared.
Sanity restored.

The one-click cache tool anyone can use — built for everyone, tuned for developers. Profile presets, keyboard shortcuts, and sessionStorage clearing Chrome's standard controls don't expose.

Stop fighting your cache.

You ship a change. Reload. Still the old version. Hard reload. Same thing. You dig through Chrome menus, clear cache manually, reload again. Five minutes gone. Now multiply that by every debugging session, every localhost test, every "why isn't this updating?" across staging and production.

CacheSweeper clears everything you've selected in one action — a click or a keyboard shortcut. No menus. No friction. Back to shipping.

One action. Clean state.

Step 01

Click or press Ctrl+Shift+X

Trigger a clear from the toolbar icon or the keyboard shortcut, without leaving your current tab.

Step 02

Your profile does the work

Each profile remembers exactly what to clear — Default handles everyday cleanup, Localhost runs a deeper developer reset. Premium can switch profiles by domain automatically.

Step 03

Fresh page, clean state

Tab reloads with a clean slate. No cached assets, no stale state, no surprises.

Everything you actually need.

No account required. No permission overreach. Just install and go.

Storage

HTTP Cache

Clears the browser's main network cache. The most common culprit.

Persistent in-origin key/value storage, gone.

Storage

Keyboard Shortcut

Ctrl+Shift+X clears without leaving the page. Configurable in Chrome settings.

Profiles

Profile Presets

Default and Localhost profiles included. Switch from the right-click menu.

Workflow

Auto-reload

Safety

Per-Origin Scope

Clear only the site you're on — every other site's storage stays untouched. Toggle it in options.

Insight

Clear Summary

Every clear ends with a sleek on-page summary — cookies removed and storage freed, measured for real.

Power features worth paying for.

Built for the edge cases that eat your afternoon.

Deep clean

sessionStorage

sessionStorage survives reloads and hard refreshes, often preserving stale auth or UI state. CacheSweeper clears it without closing the tab — a storage type Chrome's standard controls don't expose.

Automation

Scheduled Clearing

Clear automatically on a timer, at browser startup, or when your machine goes idle. Set it once and always start from a clean state.

Automation

Tab-Close Clearing

Close a tab and its site data goes with it — automatic, scoped to that site only, no clicks required.

Safety

Protected Domains

Whitelist the sites you never want cleared. Keep your Gmail, GitHub, and banking sessions logged in while you wipe everything else.

Profiles

Unlimited Profiles

Name them anything. Localhost, staging, prod, client-a. Each remembers what to clear and auto-switches by domain.

Profiles

Import & Export Profiles

Export your profiles to a file and share them with your team, then import on any machine in seconds. Your perfect setup, everywhere.

Deep clean

Service Worker Registrations

Fully unregisters the Service Worker — not just its cache. No more stale workers serving yesterday's build.

Automation

Time Range

Clear only the last 15 minutes, hour, day, week, or month. Not always everything.

Insight

Metrics Dashboard

Lifetime data freed, cookies removed, and a history of every clear — manual and automated.

Deep clean

Bypass-Cache Reload

Hard reload that skips the cache on the reload itself — not just before it.

Frequently asked.

CacheSweeper works on any http:// or https:// page. It cannot run on Chrome's own pages (chrome://, about:, etc.) due to browser security restrictions — same as every other extension.

No. CacheSweeper never touches passwords, form autofill, download history, or browsing history. It clears developer storage (cache, localStorage, IndexedDB, cookies) — nothing else unless you explicitly enable it.

Ctrl+Shift+X on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Shift+X on Mac. You can change it in Chrome at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

CacheSweeper comes with two profiles pre-configured: Default (applies to all sites) and Localhost (applies to localhost and 127.0.0.1). You can switch between them from the right-click context menu or the options page.

To clear storage for whatever site you're on. The <all_urls> permission lets the extension inject a script to clear in-memory localStorage and sessionStorage on the active tab. It doesn't read your data — only clears it.

sessionStorage is scoped to the current tab and normally lasts for the page session — but it can survive reloads and hard refreshes, preserving stale auth tokens or UI state. Chrome's standard browsing-data controls don't expose it, so CacheSweeper clears it directly from the active tab.

That's Chrome, not CacheSweeper. When you're signed in to Chrome itself, Google automatically refreshes the cookies that keep your Google Account signed in — even Chrome's own Clear Browsing Data works this way. Every other site signs out normally. To sign out of Google too, sign out of Chrome first, or turn off "Allow Chrome sign-in" in Chrome's settings.

The free tier is genuinely full-featured — install it, use it daily, and upgrade only if you need sessionStorage, scheduled clearing, or unlimited profiles. No trial nag, no free-tier popups.
